A family recipe, three generations in the making

From Alice’s Table in
Copenhagen to Yours

Our Farmor

Farmor is the Danish word for grandmother. For us, it means Alice - Adam's farmor - whose mustard vinaigrette began as a family recipe in Copenhagen and became the inspiration for everything we make today.

Where It Began

Three generations ago, Alice created a simple mustard vinaigrette for the people around her table. It was bright, savory and made with familiar ingredients - the kind of dressing that could turn a bowl of vegetables into something everyone genuinely looked forward to eating. Adam carried the recipe with him across three continents, making it for family and friends wherever he lived. Years later in California, he paired it with the beautiful, vegetable-filled salads made by his wife, Alex. The recipe became a regular part of their family table, just as it had been at Alice's.

The Moment We Decided
to Bottle It

In 2023, Alex and Adam served the dressing at their daughter's preschool graduation. The response was immediate: people loved it and encouraged them to put it in a bottle. It was the nudge they needed.

The following spring, Farmor's made its debut at the Orinda Farmers' Market. What began with one family recipe has since grown into four organic vinaigrettes, each with its own personality and all made with the same belief: real, organic ingredients make simple food taste wonderful.

Food That Makes You
Want More Vegetables

Alex is a nurse practitioner, Adam is an educator, and both believe that eating well should feel like pleasure, not homework. Their goal is simple: make it easier for people to fill their plates with vegetables - and actually look forward to them.

That is why Farmor's is certified organic and made without seed oils, artificial colors, artificial flavors or chemical preservatives. We use extra-virgin olive oil in three of our vinaigrettes and avocado oil in our Honey Mustard, along with ingredients you can recognize and trust.

From Our Family to Yours

Farmor's is rooted in Denmark and at home in the Bay Area. We are proud to support local farmers, swap recipes with customers at the market and keep learning from the community that helped us get started.

Alice's recipe traveled a long way to reach this bottle. We hope it brings something good to your table, too.
